1. Planting: To ensure the healthy growth of Loropetalum, you need to provide it with organically rich, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil and with full to partial sunlight each day. Don’t plant the root ball too deep. Make sure to dig a hole at least twice as wide as the container, and never plant it deeper than the top of the soil line in the container. Make sure to keep the roots cool by using a thick layer of mulch.
2. Watering: During the first growing season, water deeply and regularly to establish an extensive root system. Once the plant is established, you can reduce the frequency of watering as it can tolerate mild drought.
3. Fertilizing: After the blooming season, feed the plant with an acid fertilizer. Loropetalum can grow well in various soil conditions, but it requires some extra attention during planting. You must amend the native soil with organic matter while filling the hole to provide a good base for the roots to grow into.
4. Pruning: There is no need for extensive pruning, only occasional maintenance to keep the plant at the desired size and shape.
