Not only will you save money while increasing the value of your property...you'll also get the promise of year-over-year success.

1. Planting: This tree does best in full sun to partial shade (about 3 to 6 hours of sunlight daily). It will do better in a somewhat sheltered location.
Once you've selected your location, dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate your tree's root ball, backfill your soil, and mulch around the area. Finally, water to settle your tree's roots.
If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the size of your tree's shipped container, use organic soil mix, and place in a location with proper sunlight.
2. Watering: For the first couple of years, keep the soil well-watered. Once the roots are established, it can tolerate some degree of drier conditions as long as you have mulched it well.
If you're not sure when to water, simply check your tree's surrounding soil about 3 inches down for dryness.
3. Fertilizing: Use an evergreen tree and shrub fertilizer in spring and follow label instructions.
4. Pruning: This relatively low maintenance tree doesn’t require much pruning, but if necessary for shaping, limit trimming to new growth of the current season. You can remove any dead or damaged branches throughout the year.
